5P Year 7 Anniversary

August is 5P Consulting’s Anniversary month. Every year I feel reflective on the journey.

7 years ago I sat in a very stressful time in my personal life, lost my job at a firm I wasn’t in love with, and founded 5P Consulting. What a journey . . . fast forward to today – we are a global firm servicing a variety of clients in the US with a stellar team.

The business has evolved many times over the years, but what I love most about 5P is our foundation stays the same. We are a digital transformation firm that delivers high-value services for clients we love with an exceptional team.

In the past seven years, we’ve evolved quite a bit:

  • Years 1 and 2 were about building a company and determining community impact
  • Year 3 was about the organic client and team growth
  • Year 4 was about sustaining a business through a global pandemic and client revenue decline
  • Year 5 was about pivoting our business model ensuring our services were relevant for immense growth in the market, while at the same time recouping our losses and sustaining a tired team
  • Year 6 was about navigating talent wars, growth, and creating some unique product opportunities in the digital commerce space
  • Year 7 has been about refining our values, maturity, sustainability, and longer-term market growth

This past year we continued to service our clients that have stayed with us for many years. We are eternally grateful for the impact we can make in their businesses and the opportunity to evolve year-over-year bringing more offerings than when we initially started. It’s not just about ‘moving to the cloud’, it’s more about data solutions that allow our clients to maximize revenue in their businesses. Many of our clients’ businesses have changed over the years and we’ve partnered to find solutions that fit their model and budget so they can maximize their investment in technology. We have done this through our Salesforce, Information Management, and Project Management practices.

This past year we also built our first SaaS-based product we put out on the Salesforce App Exchange. This product helps organizations get from setup to go-live quickly with a customer loyalty and rewards program. This has been a fun process for us to be able to provide another solution for our clients.

We also partnered with Certinia (formally FinancialForce) to design and build a Project Service Automation practice. We are excited to take our best practices and put new solutions in place which will result in a 360° data view in our Salesforce practice.

Additionally, our Program Management office practice has grown over the last year as we manage IT investments for quite a few clients. As many of you know, IT is not simply just solution implementation – it is governance, business requirements, business process redesign, vendor management, and managing projects from start to end. These types of engagement bring a strategic and tactical impact for our clients.

As we move into this next year, my biggest hope is to continue with a pipe that keeps our fantastic team challenged and loving what they do. The team at 5P is the highlight for me every day. The laughs, challenges, and debate make us a team I look forward to waking up and working with every day.

To each of you reading this, thank you for being part of our journey along the way. We are looking forward to and excited for year 8.
