Every year, March is designated as Women’s History Month honoring women’s contributions in American history as issued by presidential proclamation in 1980. You can read more about the history of the day here.
March 8th is an important day around the world where we celebrate Women’s International Day (WID). WID is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women.
As woman in business and technology, this year I personally celebrate 30 years of making change and breaking barriers. I’ve done this in my own career, mentoring our up and coming generation of women, and partnering with some powerhouse women to drive economic growth.
This day reminds me not just of all the amazing women that have crossed my path in life but the men as well that have supported gender equality. I feel like we often forget there are so many men that have been instrumental in supporting women but also advocating for equity as well.
So, today I want to celebrate all who focus on diversity, equality, and inclusion for women.
To hear more about my personal story of my 30 year career I brought back a couple items from the archives. I hope this helps inspire you.
